The Emotional Roller Coaster of Dieting.

I’m a very optimistic person, and today I’ve been quite happily getting on with work stuff and being healthy. (weetabix and semi skimmed milk for breakfast, followed by chicken salad for lunch) but then this afternoon, things haven’t gone as swimmingly and I’m left at a decision crossroads, nothing serious you understand, just needs a decision one way or the other.

This changed my mood from upbeat to reflective and in doing so, i’ve eaten an Aero bubble bar (if you need the details, 156calories and eaten in about 25 seconds!) but i’m now left feeling like i’ve let the day down. This could potentially lead to a full on blow out, with numerous biscuits, cakes, chcoloate bars and anything else I can get my hands on.

But I’ve taken the first step in tackling this “roller coaster syndrome” as I’m NOT going to let it lead to a “double dip of extravagance” No, I’m going to consider the aero bar a treat and carry on with the healthy plan for today, and take tomorrow as it comes.

Do you get affected by mood and environment? What’s your downfall? Would love to hear your coping mechanisms (or funny stories of failure)
