Vital Statistics

All good weight loss programmes advocate the monitoring of our vital statistics as a motivational tool during weight loss.  The theory being that if you don’t see any movement on the scales in a particular week, then you should see some shrinking of the waistline (or boobs in most cases), especially if you have been working out really hard.

What should we be measuring and what exactly are our vital statistics?

For many years the ‘perfect’ statistic was quoted as 36,24,36.  Bust, waist and hip in that order.  However, nowadays I am sure that you could knock 2 inches off each of these with all the super skinny, super models flying around.  (Not that I am bitter or anything).

So this is what I have done today.  I have measured my boobs across their fullest part.  I have measured my waist just above the hip bones, and I have measured my hips (although I did need the help from hubby to do this).

The great news is that I am in proportion in that my boobs and hips are the same, and my waist is slimmer.  Phew..thats a relief.

The not so great news is that I am just a tad bigger than the ‘perfect’ statistic.

The shocking news is that I am and have been wearing the wrong bra size!

Welcome back everybody! A few weeks ago, I said to my hubby….I would really like to re-launch MBFD, what do you think?  Within an hour we were looking at the old site, laughing at the posts and critiquing the design.  It did look a bit dated. “Why?”, I hear you say. I probably haven’t told you this…
